Out of the 20,000+ Virtuoso advisors, each professional and vetted, I am very proud to be distinguished as of one of fewer than 500 Virtuoso Certified Travel Advisors worldwide. This was a result of dedicated efforts in my professional education and training, and an important milestone for me, as it represents my level of commitment to the luxury travel industry and the Virtuoso network.

As an independent Luxury Travel Consultant and founder of Filling the Nest Luxury Travel & Lifestyle, LLC, I am a sole proprietor, but I recognize the value of teamwork and connections, and I have made it my mission to affiliate with the best of the best in the luxury travel industry. I am an affiliate of Glass Slipper Concierge, a Platinum-Level Earmarked Agency and Authorized Disney Vacation Planner specializing in Luxury Disney Vacations. This is the perfect match for my “Do Disney Differently” approach to making the most of the magic through unique and exclusive experiences. Glass Slipper Concierge is a division of Sanborn’s Travel Service, a long-standing Virtuoso Member Agency, and my connection to the world’s top travel products. Sanborn’s Travel Service is the name you will see on any charges for service fees or other components not paid directly to the travel partner, and Sanborn’s is my IATAN (International Airlines Travel Agent Network) affiliation. Additionally, within Virtuoso I am a member of the Virtuoso Ultraluxe Community, a small group of Virtuoso advisors who work with an exclusive portfolio including private travel services – jets, yachts, islands, villas, and more – all with superior exclusivity.

Depends how you define “more”. Technically, yes, my service fee starts at $250 and is non-refundable, due at the time of booking. However, due to my relationships with my luxury travel partners, my clients receive valuable amenities which always outweigh my service fee. For example, the daily breakfast amenity at a luxury hotel may be $75/day. A four-night stay means a $300 value, already outweighing my service fee. That’s the simple math, but I’ve been told you can’t put a price on the value I bring to the equation with my level of service.

Quite simply, my time cannot be refunded. When I accept a new client, I immediately dedicate an amount of time for research, creative planning, and itinerary design. This happens early on, and if an adventure is unfortunately postponed or cancelled, those services have already taken place. In most cases, I allow a rollover, and should a client reschedule the same trip components but just a different date, I do not charge an additional planning fee.

Admittedly, my level of service isn’t for everyone. To discover if we are a mutually good fit, I always begin with a complimentary phone call, but to give you an idea here, if the following fits your description, I’m pretty sure we’ll make a fabulous team…

O You are looking for your greatest adventure yet, something above average and unique, but you know this takes a lot of research and effort and you don’t have the time or energy to plan it yourself.
O You’re not interested in “budget” or “group tour” travel…you are a discerning traveler looking for more, and you recognize that travel is one of those life experiences where you get what you pay for. There are exceptions but as a general rule, I work with clients with a $500/day pp minimum budget (not including airfare).
O You feel comfortable trusting a luxury travel professional to handle your personal information (credit cards, passport, and other personal details).
O You are willing – make that thrilled and relieved – to let a luxury travel professional the reins!

We probably won’t be a good fit if…

o You’re a die-hard planner, have always loved the “game” of travel planning and research and design and you’re just looking for new ideas, but don’t want someone else to make plans for you.
o “Free” and “Deal” are your favorite four-letter words. I’m a five-letter word girl…VALUE. When it comes to travel, the greatest value is rarely the lowest price.
o You’re looking for an assistant to jump through hoops, follow your instructions, and simply “book travel”. That may be fine in some circumstances, but it’s really not what I do.

It depends. First Class/Business air, yes, I sure do, and my partnerships with airlines such as Delta and United often have better options than clients find booking themselves. I generally do not book Economy air unless a client is uncomfortable booking on his/her own, but I do offer advice about flights, regardless of class, as part of my service, and I can help you decide which flights to book. Many of my clients prefer to book their own flights, especially if they want to use points. I am happy to include these arrangements with the itineraries I create. My software even monitors your flights!

FIlling the nest FAQs

Absolutely! Not all travel requires a fully customized itinerary, although I’ve found my “hotel only” bookings often circle back wanting dining/spa and other arrangements, and upgrade to the full plan. But if all you really want or need is a short hotel stay, then you should absolutely let me handle those arrangements. My hotel bookings are considered direct bookings, meaning I work directly with the hotel as your liaison, but you are charged directly by the hotel, there is no additional service fee, and no markups on room rate. You’ll not only get the best rate, but because your booking is attached to my name, you’ll be extended Virtuoso Amenities such as complimentary upgrade, daily breakfast, often a spa or resort credit, and more!

Yes, again! In this case, I would assess the level of planning required and determine an “itinerary-only” planning fee. I can still make dining, spa, tour, transfer, etc. arrangements even if I am not booking lodging.

FIlling the nest FAQs

Short answer, yes. However, I don’t believe insurance is a one-size fits all, and I also don’t believe you necessarily have to insure your full trip cost. Part of my service is making sure you understand your total trip risk (which is not always the same as total trip cost) and your cancellation policies, and then advising you about your insurance options to make the selection which would best suit your needs.
